Silmarillion/Discworld crossover: Evidence

"So what does he do but come looking for me, nice and safe and polishing the family heirlooms at home in a different world entirely, and say 'oo, help me, Mr. Samuel Vimes, I'm in need of a policeman and no mistake'."

As bizarre as the fandoms may seem together, this works surprisingly well. In short, Sam Vimes investigates the disappearance of the Silmarils, much to the chagrin of...virtually everyone else. Camwyn gives a distinctly Discworld flavor to Tolkien's characters, fitting well with the way Pratchett likes to knock down other epic tales. As with all such stories, sometimes The Silmarillion just needs a hefty dose of common sense.
